In a car cooling system, there is one component that is often forgotten, the thermostat. In fact, this components are often removed and not replaced for some reason, mostly because some people think it's not important.

The presence of a thermostat is to regulate the flow of fluid in the car's cooling system. This is done so that the engine can maintain operational temperature, not too cold, not too hot. It's usually about 90 °C.

The thermostat can regulate the flow of fluid, or open completely. Usually when the car is cold, a thermostat that uses some kind of wax material will close so that the engine can reach the optimal temperature faster.

If the optimal temperature has been reached, the thermostat will open for fluid to flow and cool the engine. When the temperature of the fluid heats up, the thermostat will open up to cooldown the engine

After understanding its function, it is recommended not to remove the thermostat. Because, the engine can be too cold when used, especially when you are cruising on the highway for example with the Forceum Octa tyres that are not noisy.

Pada sistem pendinginan mobil, ada satu komponen yang seringkali terlupakan, yaitu thermostat. Bahkan, komponen ini seringkali dilepas dan tidak dipasang lagi dengan alasan “tidak terlalu penting”.

Padahal, thermostat bertujuan untuk meregulasi aliran cairan dalam sistem pendinginan mobil. Hal ini dilakukan agar mesin bisa mempertahankan suhu operasional, tidak terlalu dingin, tidak terlalu panas. Biasanya sekitar 90 °C.

Thermostat bisa meregulasi untuk mengecilkan aliran cairan, atau membuka sepenuhnya. Biasanya pada saat mobil dingin, thermostat yang menggunakan semacam bahan lilin akan menutup agar mesin lebih cepat mencapai temperatur optimal.

Jika temperatur optimal sudah tercapai, thermostat akan membuka untuk aliran cairan dan pendinginan. Bila suhu cairan memanas, maka thermostat akan semakin membuka agar mesin semakin dingin.

Setelah memahami fungsinya, maka direkomendasikan untuk tidak melepas thermostat. Karena, mesin bisa saja terlalu dingin ketika digunakan, terutama pada kondisi berjalan santai di jalan tol misalnya dengan ban Forceum Octa yang tidak bising.

Mesin yang terlalu dingin tidaklah optimal. Lalu, mesin yang terlalu dingin juga sebaiknya tidak digeber untuk mencegah kerusakan. Dengan thermostat, maka suhu mesin bisa tetap optimal dan bisa jadi lebih cepat mencapai suhu optimal tersebut. Jangan lupakanlah thermostat.
